What's Bullying?



The term "bullying" refers to all forms of physical abuse, verbal or psychological that occurs between students, repeatedly and over time. Is any act of meanness, exclusion threats of any sort...
Considers the erasure of gender- and sexuality-based harassment that occurs when schools frame all violence as bullying, under the current post-Columbine regime known as "zero tolerance."
The zero-tolerance mania, which disproportionately affects students of color, Such violence usually a children between 12 and 15 years. Is part of the pervasive punitive ideology and social policy that also includes trying minors as adults, deterrence theories, and mandatory sentencing. Educators now include bullying behaviors under the ever-broadening umbrella of zero tolerance.
The assailant or harasser bothers his victim in different ways to silence or complicity of other peers. Typically, the conflict begins with jokes that become systemic and can lead to shock or physical assault.
Bullying cases reveal an abuse of power. The harasser does bullying of another boy, who is perceived as stronger, regardless of whether this strength is real or subjective. Gradually, the child begins to experience different harassed psychological consequences of the situation, and fear of attending school, by being withdrawn to their peers.
